Can You Go Into Shock From Drinking A Litre Of Water In A Short Time (when It Is Not Hot I.e. Winter)?
I rarely drink water by itself. I drink herbal tea, I drink coffee, I eat a LOT of fruit and vegetables, and I drink fresh orange juice, so I’m getting enough water. But I just cannot drink water by itself. It makes me want to retch every time. I am going to have a pelvic scan and I have to drink a LITRE of water beforehand. I’ve drank half a litre in around 25 minutes and I’m already feeling like I’m about to go insane, and I’m feeling shaky and very light-headed. I just want to throw up. You see, I’m not allowed to empty my bladder until before the appointement. I think I’m going to die.
I never drank a litre of water before my scan. My bladder was full(I felt it, I knew it was full), and I held it in. Yes, I did drink a lot of water, but only to the point where my bladder feels full(obviously you’ll know). And my scans came out just fine.
So even now, if you feel that your bladder is starting to bloat, then it should be ok to stop, at least I think so. And don’t drink so much anymore right now. Just take a bit of a break, then take like a few sips(if you feel like you REALLY have to finish the litre). If, by the time the appointment comes, as long as your bladder is full, you are ok.
You won’t die, but it will be uncomfortable. Try to think about something else.
