Is There An Alternative To Gum Surgery For Periodontitis? Such As Herbal Remedies.?
If it’s bad enough to require surgery, NO.
Don’t delay, it will only get worse.
The ‘alternative` is waiting for the teeth to fall out.

No alternative–if you have been told that you need surgery, then get it. But, in the meantime, you can use myrrh and goldenseal to reduce any infection that may be there. Put a little bit of myrrh extract on the gum and then a little goldenseal powder on top of that. I’m told it works well for abscesses, too.
When you’ve been diagnosed with periodontal disease, you already have an infection which needs to be cleaned out. As any infection will do, it affects your immune system. As one of the other respondents stated, do not delay. This infection, though perhaps mild, is affecting the rest of your body as well. I’m told by dental hygienists that people tend to regard the mouth as a separate entity isolated from the rest of the body. In fact, it is connected through the blood vessels in your mouth.
I’ve had periodontal disease and, in spite of the fact that I took a lot of vitamins, rinsed with salt water and other rinses, my periodontal disease didn’t go away and I lost a tooth and vital bone from the infection.
Your dentist probably told you of the local dangers. However, I ended up having a terrible cough for about 10 years, the source of which no one could find – until I had oral surgery the first time. The cough disappeared for about a year and then returned. At that point, I didn’t associate it with my periodontal disease because there were some other major changes in my life at that time.
About 8 years later, the local dentist made an appointment for me with a periodontist based on his belief that the bacteria had been found to affect the heart in some studies. I went and had a “deep cleaning” (with no numbing but I do take Tylenol before my appointments – uncomfortable but tolerable). A few weeks later, my cough disappeared again. I finally put 2 and 2 together and had the possibility of the relationship confirmed by the periodontist , dental hygienist, and a couple of doctors. Since I have “chronic periodontal disease”, I have my teeth “deep” cleaned 3 times a year. Frequently, near my appointment times, my cough will return to a lesser extent but it has never returned to the extent that it had.
All this is to say that, now that you have periodontitis, take care of it and keep an eye on it. If you’ve had it for awhile, you may notice some other changes afterwards. A low grade chronic infection affects the body negatively in different ways. So you are doing yourself a favour to get that infection cleaned out and then make sure it doesn’t come back.
Good luck and good health.

No herbals to make periodontal damage go away. Has your dentist discussed a “deep clean” with you, before saying you need gum surgery? A deep clean is going further under the gums to clean and remove any debris. This is done in four visits as one section is numbed and cleaned during one office call until all four sections are done painlessly.
However, this procedure may be too late and too much damage has been done. On the other hand, it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
I’m sure the surgery will be painless also. Bring a portable CD player, put the ear pieces in and crank that music. This should relax you instead of concentrating on whats being done.
When I go to the dentist, it’s “have music will travel.” I never leave home with out it.
