“–GINGER is a warming, stimulating herb. When you’re coming down with one of those tight-chested coughs, hot ginger tea can loosen things right up. Make ginger tea by grating or thinly slicing about 1″ of fresh ginger root into a cup, covering with boiling water, and letting it steep for 10 minutes before drinking…”

Ginger is very warming, I made some tea this last winter for a cold, and it helped….Although it is a bit on the spicy side. You could probably work it into just about anything and get it’s properties, as long as you don’t cook them out. For example, if you used it to make candy-like cough drops, add the ginger last as you turn out the heat.

    I take ginger daily.
Either as a tea or in capsules, it really helps my allergies (in capsules I take 3 of them, 500 mg. each) and I no longer need allergy meds. (I capsule my own ginger powder)
Ginger is an anti-inflammatory which can help to reduce pain.

It is wonderful for stomach problems. The Danish Navy did a study and found that ginger worked better for its sailors than Dramamine did, with no side effects.
